Synthesis is a process that I will admit I have never really done. From what I have read im comparing the ideas of documents given to me to see if I can find any similarities between them. This process seems to be about first reading through the documents I wish to synthesize and find similarities between both. I am not looking for basic ideas when im doing this im looking specifically for ideas that run deeper throughout the paper not just on the surface.Once I have found the ideas I feel have a strong presence in both articles I must compare how they have changed throughout time or how they chance throughout country. In my two documents something that to me runs through the surface is they are both about baseball. Something that runs deeper through the both articles is the fact there both have their minds focused around money and the affects it has on players, managers, and anyone else who is around the world of baseball. Money has become such a big force in baseball Billy Beane devised an entire new way on how he could build a team to not spend money. Obviously the Black Socks Scandal was about players throwing the 1919 World Series for money from gamblers at the time. Another underlying theme I have found in both of my articles is cheating and why it has become such a problem in baseball. Cheating in my mind relates back to the issue of money but it is a little different. It has corrupted players like the people involved with the Black Socks Scandal and people who have used steroids for performance enhancements. In both cases the reasons for doing these things was money. That is what I understand synthesis as and where I intend to head with my paper
